OPPORTUNITY AND INNOVATION
The Scott family has lived in the Hawfields section of Alamance County, North Carolina since the 1700s. Initially they supported themselves and their families by farming. Over time, many members of this remarkable family developed an entrepreneurial spirit, finding opportunity and meeting it with innovation.
This project starts with Henderson Scott (1814-1870) and his wife Margaret (1822-1892) and describes the contributions of six generations of their family to the economy of Alamance County and the State of North Carolina.
